What's been happing recently??

In this Devlog I'll be touching over some aspects that myself and the team has been working on for Sprint 6 of our Trello board.

So, Sprint 6 was a busy one prior to our dissertation deadline as we all wanted to get a good chunk of work done so we can get our dissertations complete on time, allowing us to properly focus on STYX again.

For me, the focus was once again back onto the Swivel Gun, this time I was limiting the rotating angle of its firing arc. Previously, the SG (Swivel Gun) did not have a lock on it and it would snap to the nearest enemy - which is what was intended, however, this proved to be quite problematic as it would kill the player if it snapped in front of them... obviously not ideal. A good work around fix for this was to clamp the swivel gun to a 90 degree angle and make it so the ammo from the gun did not damage the player. This is still a WIP.

As ever, our Game Designer has smashed it again this Sprint and done a huge amount of work, including a lot of programming, making me feel guilty! I think that this has been beneficial for him as he has been able to tweak/add certain things to how he wants, such as health bars and cooldowns for the cannons/swivel gun etc.
